CHIKE ONUORAH : THE MANIFESTO
Leading candidate for the forthcoming Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA) elections billed to hold on Saturday 20th October 2018, Chike Onuorah otherwise known as D'Artist of Federal Government College Port Harcourt Old Students Association has reeled out his manifesto.
According to his official campaign organization, the 'Chike Onuorah Campaign Organization' (COCO), in a statement made available Wednesday morning, said when elected as President General, Chike plans to do the following:
USOSA : TOTAL REBRANDING
Promote National unity, peace and progress through a united and robust USOSA.
Position USOSA as a collection of purpose driven men and women, the best intelligentsia in Africa and arguably the world.
Create
multiple Units working concurrently, within USOSA and partnering with
Independent Units to constantly develop and deliver valuable content.
Support more Plenary sessions in conjunction with a variety of OSAs as stipulated in the Constitution.
Unveil
USOSA ProUnitate Mobile App linking all Alumni Associations with
comprehensive data base and online payment possibilities.
Promote USOSA online TV. and publications for dissemination of information on USOSA & alumni activities.
Produce
a USOSA movie on Unity, with educational, informative and entertaining
content, written and directed in the highest standard for National and
International relevance.
Institute the ProUnitate Hall of Fame.
*IMPROVEMENT ON EDUCATION :*
Encourage collaborations with the private sector/NGOs for the supply of Teaching Aids and Educational materials for schools
Capacity building for teachers through Local and International seminars, workshops & training.
Encourage mentorship programmes and Educational competition among students of Unity schools mostly through their OSAs.
Facilitation
of scholarship programmes within and outside Nigeria, in collaboration
with Institutions of higher learning. Options already being negotiated.
*IMPROVEMENT ON WELFARE :*
Encourage
ProUnitate Support Groups or USOSA Social Clubs at various States of
the Federation, for closer interaction and networking among members.
Create a USOSA online application hub where alumni will upload their CV for job opportunities. A one stop shop for recruitment.
Support
initiatives especially by weaker OSAs to strengthen them and grow their
interest in USOSA activities. A panacea for massive membership drive.
Discounted hub on the ProUnitate mobile App for online shopping.
*SPORTS DEVELOPMENT:*
Encourage
the development of sporting infrastructure in unity schools e.g.
Construction of Multipurpose Astro turf courts for different games in
selected schools with 20yr warranty. These will be branded by USOSA and
various sponsors.
Encourage participation of OSAs in sporting events and carnival. A networking and interactive opportunity.
*ALUMNI CONCERNS* :
Online Yellow pages on alumni businesses
Creation
of Microfinance support units for alumni business strictly from OSAs
who have executed programmes/projects of value to USOSA within a
specified period.
Advertising
opportunities and patronage for USOSA businesses on the PRO UNITATE
APP, USOSA TV, USOSA MOVIE and other platforms.
NOTE
: All USOSA Projects and Programs will be done in conjunction with
registered OSAs FINANCIALLY UP TO DATE on their dues. This is the
ultimate membership drive.
*OBJECTIVES*
Promote USOSA as one body.
Strengthen OSA membership in USOSA.
Rebuild USOSA to take dominance of the polity and governance.
Promote USOSA activities among OSAs.
De-emphasis government dependency.
Promote USOSA as a resource base of the nation.
