Vintage Dakuku dispels rumors of resignation at NIMASA, hits back at unloving critics.

Former Rivers State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 elections, Dr Dakuku Peterside has taken a hard hit at his critics who sponsored rumours of his resignation as Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safty Agency, NIMASA.
The rumour claimed that his resignation was rejected by the Honorable Minister of Transportation and Leader of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi CON.  Dr Dakuku, in a statement obtained from his media office, lashed out at his critics for sponsoring false insinuations about his office.

You will recall that the President Buhari led Federal Government has, on several occasions commended Dr Dakuku for his awe-inspiring leadership and the new wave of transformation at NIMASA. Below is the Statement obtained from his Media Office in Port Harcourt.

"Dakuku Peterside Rubbishes Insinuations Regarding Resignation

The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Dakuku Peterside has rubbished insinuations, especially on social media, suggesting that he resigned his appointment to pursue a political interest, just as the leader of the party in the state and Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi rejected his rumoured resignation.

Dr Peterside laughed off what he described as “childish attempts by disillusioned politicians and their hatchet men to give life to a lie that has no bearing and foundation.
“He stressed further that he would have simply ignored the talebearers but for several calls from concerned Rivers people, who expressed worry over the development and who are genuinely concerned about the future of the state.

According to him, he has repeatedly told Rivers people that he would make his decision known at the right time concerning his political interest and would follow the due process if the need arises.

“Let me emphatically state that at no point did I resign and as such, there was no rejection from any quarters. I have repeatedly stated that whenever I am ready to make my decision known, I will tell Rivers people and it would not be hidden.

“I am aware that some jittery politicians who have jeopardized their political relevance may have resorted to blackmail and outright lies to give their waning members hope. This is not unusual as they will become more desperate in the days ahead,” he stated.

Dakuku advised Rivers people and friends of the state to ignore the unfounded rumour as there is no iota of truth in it and remain focused on how to rebuild "our state destroyed by the evil regime of Governor Wike."

The NIMASA boss pointed out that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains unshaken in its resolve to sack Governor Nyesom Wike come 2019 governorship election and would not be hindered by the shenanigans of fifth columnists.

Peterside, who is also the Deputy Leader of APC in Rivers, stressed that all members of the party under the leadership of Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi would support whoever emerges the Guber candidate of the party.

“Every member of APC in Rivers subscribes to the leadership of Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi. The party at the appropriate time will give guidelines on its Guber primary and all will support whoever wins. There is no need crying wolf where there is none. Only those who have skeletons in their cupboards are panicking," he summed up.

Respondents say this response has put to rest the argument whether he has indeed resigned or not, and that those spreading the rumours were advised to desist forthwith.
